Can't buy tickets in person was told to buy online. Website makes you make an account which takes ages.

We came here many months ago but forgot to leave a review.
First we were put in the wrong queue by a member of staff. We told them we had a ticket so they stuck us in the none ticket queue and we waited 30 minutes until we realised what they had done.
Then we went inside and went downstairs to a room with a guy dressed as a viking giving out facts but that was really about it. I'm not sure what the point of it was there as for a viking centre, the viking felt out of place in that room, if that makes sense?
Then when we waited for the ride, which broke down and we had to wait 30 minutes for them to fix it. The only reason why I have given an extra star is because the lady who was letting us into the rides kept us talking and was very polite.
Then when we were on the ride WE HAD NO SOUND from the very start and there was absolutely no way of getting help either. So we had to sit and watch soundless displays for 30 - 45 minutes which drove the couple sat infront of us insane bless them.
Then when we got to the end, we told the lady we had no sound and their response was 'just go around again' like we didn't have other things to do and 45 minutes of going through that without sound wasn't torture.
We raced through another small exhibit, who can blame us? Went upstairs to ask for a refund, we rarely ever, if not ever, ask for a refund but if the main point of attraction is the ride and it wasn't working for us and the other couple In front of us we should do.
Then when we got upstairs and spoke to the two staff behind the desk, they literally scoffed and got the manager. Manager was nice but couldn't refund us unless we phoned up a number. Meanwhile the two staff members snickering and talking about us.
Reading some the reviews they fail to acknowledge that some people genuinely had a bad time or genuinely didn't enjoy it and that's such a bad mindset for a busines, we had three things go seriously wrong for us - we didn't have time to spend another 45 minutes going around it again and the two staff in the gift shop were shocking (manager was nice and the ride assistant were however nice)

Turned up with plenty of time to spare, along with another family. Just in time for them to close early according to the online hours and the sign on the building itself .... without explanation or any sympathy/empathy whatsoever. Some very upset and disappointed kids, not good....

A great and informative little museum in the center of York taking you back in time to a time that shaped the city and that still is culturally visible today. Workers know the history and its facts and more, you get to see the archeological findings as well as the data and research revolving it. A fun extra was their ride through their reconstructed viking village. This museum shows you the viking age of York not just through texts and photos like many museums, but it’s also very informative visually.

With limited findings they created an amazing exhibition telling the story of Jorvik Vikings in York. I enjoyed the mechanical ride and the immersing environment created showing the typical life of Jorviks.

Great place to have fun with kids and learn so much from the historical place. Need to come back again and spend more time in the city as well.

Great visit right in the center of York. I would advise booking before going to minimize queuing.

Not very good ,to be honest awful, the day we went the ride had broke down and they say that's what makes the Jorvik experience, but certainly won't be rushing back to go to it again ,if I did go to York this wouldn't be at the top of the places to go ,it's over hyped ,infact it's really boring, save your money and go to the york dungeons well worth the money
